Osmanlı modernleşmesinin son döneminde ortaya çıkan siyasi akımları incelemek bir taraftan ekonomik, teknolojik ve siyasi gelişmelerin , kültür ve düşün alanlarında ortaya çıkan felsefi hareketlerin Osmanlı toplumuna etkisini; diğer taraftan da siyasi düzenin koşullarını ve mekanizmasını oluşturan ögelerin değişimini çözümlemek anlamına gelir. Bu meselenin ana noktasını , son dönemdeki modernleşme çabalarının toplumda, özellikle seçkinler arasında ortaya çıkarttığı çatışma ve ayrışma ekseni ile "Jön Türk" hareketinin bu eksende aldığı yerin ne olduğu hususu oluşturmaktadır.

The political movements that emerged in the last period of Ottoman modernization, on the other hand, the effects of economic, technological and political developments, philosophical movements emerged in culture and thought fields on the Ottoman society; means to examine the exchange of the elements that make up the conditions and mechanism of the political order . The main point of this question is formed of "Jön Türk" movement with the axis of conflict and separation which the modernization efforts of the last period reveal among the society, especially amoung the elites.
