Mehmet Rüştü Aşıkkutlu, Cumhuriyet'in kurulduğu ve inkılapların gerçekleştirildiği dönemde, medrese tahsili yanında bazı özel ihtisas sahibi kişilerden aldığı derslerle 1930'lu yılların başında İslami ilimler öğrenimini tamamlamış bir din alimidir. Kur'an ilmi ve kıraati konusundaki bilgisi ve uygulamaları onu bu alanda önemli bir şahsiyet haline getirmiştir. Makalede, Mehmet Rüştü Aşıkkutlu'nun din eğitimi konusunda devletin pek çok kısıtlama getirdiği 1930'lar başta olmak üzere, yaklaşık yarım asır süren din eğitimi alanındaki hizmetleri ve yaptığı hizmetlerin önemi açıklanmaktadır.

Mehmet Rüştü Aşıkkutlu is a religious scholar who completed the education of Islamic sciences at the beginning of the 1930's with the lessons he had taken from some specialist people besides the madrasah education in the period when the Republic was founded and the revolutions were realized. The knowledge and practices of the Qur'anic recitation and the Qur'anic have made him an important figure in this field. In this article, Mehmet Rüştü Aşıkkutlu's works in the field of religious education for about half a century, especially in the 1930s, when the state introduced many restrictions on religious education, are highlighted.
