When It is looked at the period of growth and formation on the schools in the Islamic thougth, it seems that there are some considerations on the ahl al-hadith that they have been pioneers of the ahl al-sunnah. From these considerations, we can conclude that ahl al-hadith effectived on the ahl al-sunnah about understanding of religion. In this study, we will tiy to survey of the ahl al-hadith’s understanding of religion, meaning of it and their methods used in that period. In this context, we dealt with the concepts of narration (naqO and narratorness, contrast in ra'y, textual criticism and the priority of the transmission (sanad/isnad) and etc
