Evaluation of Vitamin D and Biochemical Parameters in Patients Operated For Hip Fracture

Objective: Osteoporosis is a multifactorial condition that occurs with age and is associated with an increased incidence of hip fractures. Bone cycle markers are highly affected in the presence of osteoporosis. In this study, we aimed to evaluate vitamin D (25OHD3), Parathormone (PTH) Calcium (Ca) and Phospor (P) levels in elderly individuals who were operated for hip fracture. Methods: Serum 25OHD3, PTH, Ca and P levels of 43 patients who applied to our hospital for hip fracture and who underwent replacement surgery were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into groups according to their levels of Vitamin D. The correlation between age and analyzed parameters was studied. Results: While the incidence of vitamin D deficiency was 74.4% in patients evaluated within the scope of the study, 20.9% of patients had insufficient vitamin D levels. In 4.7% of the patient group, vitamin D levels were found at normal levels (p
