Türkiye'de halen teras çatılarda yalıtım uygulaması yok denecek düzeydedir. Bunun da ötesinde, bu çatılarda yüzey kaplaması da doğru yapılmadığından son kat döşemesinden binalara su girmektedir. Dolayısıyla teras çatılı binalarda su yalıtımının yetersizliğinden kaynaklanan çeşitli sorunlar yaşanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, teras çatılarda özellikle su tutucu tabakanın tasarım ve uygulanması aşamalarında göz önünde bulundurulması gereken ilkeler özetlenmiştir.

The application of water insulation of terrace roofs is not still used widely in Turkey. Moreover, since surface covering is not done properly on these roofs, there is water leakage in the top floor of buildings. Therefore, some problems occur due to the insufficient insulation in buildings with terrace roof. In this study, some important principles need to be considered in the design and application stages of surface covering layer of the terrace roofs, in particular, are summarized.
