Phrygia’dan Tanrı Apollon’a sunulan Yeni bir Altar Adağı

This paper presents a new votive altar to Apollo which was unearthed during illegal excavations in a place called Ağılsırtı near Aşağı Doğanoğlu village in Beylikova county in the Eskişehir province. The inscription only mentions the name of Apollo. The existence of a rider figure with a crescent depicted above the inscription, however, indicates the second god, Men, within the cult of Apollo. It is well known from the previously discovered votive inscriptions that Apollo was worshipped together with Helios and Hosios Dikaios in the region located between Tembris and Sangarius rivers in the northeast Phrygia. This new votive altar, therefore, makes an addition to our knowledge that Apollo was also worshipped together with Men in this area
