Ilısu Barajı Etki Alanında Kalan Salat Tepe Kazıları Işığında Yukarı Dicle Havzası’nın Orta Tunç Çağı

Dicle Nehrinin kuzey kollarından birisi olan Salat Çayı’nın kuzey kıyısında Alt Miyosen dönemde oluşmuş yaklaşık 6 m kalınlıkta alüvyonlu dolgu sekisi üzerine kurulmuş olan Salat Tepe, ilk kez 1989 yılında Algaze tarafından bilim dünyasına tanıtılmıştır Algaze et al. 1991 . Tarafımızca 1998-1999 yıllarında yüzey araştırmaları yapılmış ve 2000 yılından beri kurtarma kazıları yürütülmektedir Ökse 2004; 2008; Ökse – Alp 2002; Ökse 2006 . Diyarbakır il merkezinin 90 km doğusunda, Bismil ilçesine bağlı bölgede yer alan ve halen kurtarma kazıları sürdürülen pek çok höyükten birisidir. Dicle vadisinin 5 km kuzeyinde, Dicle Nehrinin kollarından birisi olan Salat Çayı’nın Miosen dönemde oluşturduğu seki üzerinde yer alan höyüğün üzerine inşa edilmiştir.

Middle Bronze Age of the Upper Tigris Region in the Light of the Excavations at Salat Tepe within the Zone to be Affected by the Ilısu Dam.

Salat Tepe takes place in Upper Tigris region will be flooded by the lake which will be formed by the Ilısu Dam. The earliest settlement on Salat Tepe is dated to the Chalcolithic period from the Halaf-Early Ubaid transition until the end of the Late Uruk period. On the mound summit five building levels dating to the Middle Bronze Age MBA are exposed. These levels are disturbed by several Early Iron Age pit-houses, Hellenistic-Roman and medieval granary pits modern graves.
