Kamusal Alanların İdeolojik Kurgusu: Bir Eleştirel Toponimi Denemesi

Yer adlarıyla ilgili Türkçe literatürdeki çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğunun, olguyu nesnelleştirerek mevcut verilerin betimlenmesi, sınıflandırılması ve sayısallaştırılması şeklinde incelediği saptanmıştır. Olguya sağlanan bu pozitivist ayrıcalığın, adlandırmanın doğasında yatan iktidar ilişkilerinin göz ardı edilmesine neden olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, adlandırma pratiklerinin iktidar ve ideoloji ile olan ilişkisini, teorik bir çerçevede tartışmaktır. Bu tartışma, “iktidar mutlak mekân perspektifi ile adlandırır” varsayımından hareket etmektedir. Çalışmanın teorik ve kavramsal (gösterge, ideoloji) bağlamı, mutlak mekân eleştirisine dayanmaktadır. Bu eleştiri; iktidar, adlandırma, ideoloji ve gösterge kavramlarından hareketle teorik bir okuma biçimine yoğunlaşmaktadır.

The Ideological Fiction of Public Areas: An Essay on Critical Toponymy

It has been determined that the majority of studies in the Turkish literature on place names examine the phenomenon by objectifying, describing, classifying and digitizing the existing data. It has been determined that this positivist privilege provided to the phenomenon causes the power relations inherent in the naming to be ignored. The aim of this study is to discuss the relationship of naming practices with power and ideology in a theoretical framework. This discussion is based on the assumption that "power names with the perspective of absolute space". This criticism; It focuses on a theoretical reading style based on the concepts of power, naming, ideology and sign.
