Evidence Based Practices in Growth Monitoring, Feeding and Vaccination of Preterm Babies After Discharge from the Hospital

The survival of preterm babies has increased considerably as a result of medical and technological advances in neo- natal care. An increased number of babies are being disc- harged earlier from the hospital and general pediatricians are more frequently involved in the post-discharge care of these babies. Important points in the follow-up are to monitor pre-defined clinical problems, to diagnose newly emerging ones, to consult with subspecialties when needed and at the same time provide routine follow-up care. In this paper evidence based practices in growth monitoring, fee- ding and vaccination of preterm babies after discharge from the hospital are discussed
