Yerel günlük gazeteler yayımlandıkları şehir ile ilgili ayrıntılı haberler vermeyi amaçlarlar. Bu gazetelerin spor sayfaları da o yöredeki sportif aktivitelerle ilgili, günlük spor haberlerinin yer aldığı sayfalardır. Bu araştırmada ülkemizin iki farklı bölgesinde yer alan Adana ve Bursa şehirlerine ait dört günlük gazetenin spor sayfaları bir ay süreyle incelenmiştir. Spor haberlerinin yazı ve fotoğraf olarak dağılımları, cinsiyetlere göre dağılımları, branşlara göre dağılımları cm2 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Gazete alan hesaplamaları , yüzde (%) ve istatistiki değerlendirmeler Microsoft-Excel bilgisayar programında yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, tüm takım sporların yüzde değerlerinin ferdi sporlardan daha yüksek olduğu ve erkek spor haberlerinin yüzde değerlerinin yazı ve fotoğraf olarak bayan spor haberlerinden daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir.

Local daily newspapers aim to give detailed news about the cities in which they are published. The sport pages of these newspapers also give daily news of sports activities in those cities. In this study , the sports pages of the four local daily newspapers in Adana and Bursa were examined for a month. The layout of sports news as pictures and articles, as gender and various sport branches were fixed in terms of cm2 . Percentegaces evaluations and newspapers layout with together statistical calculations were done with Microsoft-Excel. The results show that the percentages in team sports is higher than of individual sports and considering the distribution of gender in terms of photographs and articles, the male sports coverage percentage is higher than of female in sport page coverage of local newspapers.
