Bu çalışmanın amacı uygulamalı alanlarda eğitim gören lisans öğrencileri için araştırma ve deneme metotları dersinde başarılı olmalarına etkili olan faktörleri belirlemektir. Bu amaçla 2016-2017 güz döneminde Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesinde Araştırma ve Deneme Metotları dersini alan 105 öğrenci ile çalışma yürütülmüştür.  Dönem boyunca anlatılan bütün deneme desenleri ile ilgili öğrencilere ödev verilmiş olup ödevler 100 puan üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Dönem sonunda sınava giren 83 öğrenci ile anket çalışması yapılmış ve başarı durumları değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistik, t testi ki kare analizi ve dönem sonundaki başarı durumu üzerine etkili olan faktörlerin belirlenmesi için Lojistik regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Lisanslı SPSS paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre başarı üzerine yaş, cinsiyet, medeni durum, çocuk durumu, çalışma durumu, gelir, gelir yeterliliği, ortalama gider, barınma, sigara içme, derse gelirken kahvaltı yapma, dersi sevme ve dersi alma sayılarından sadece dersi sevme özelliğinin başarı üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Buna göre dersi sevenler sevmeyenlere göre 8.3 kat daha başarılı olmuşlardır. Deneme desenleri dersinde çoklu karşılaştırma ile latin kare deneme desenleri ile ilgili ödev vermenin başarı üzerine etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca en az üç ödevin yapılması durumunda başarının 9.3 kat artabileceği tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu dersi alan öğrencilere dersi neden almaları gerektiği dönem başında anlatılarak derse olan önyargılarının kırılması ile dersi sevmeleri sağlanmalıdır. Ayrıca bu derste başarılı olmak için çoklu karşılaştırma testleri ve latin kare deneme deseni üzerinde daha yoğun durulmalı ve en az 3 ödev verilerek dönemin sonlandırılması gerektiği belirlenmiştir.

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that affect their success in the lesson of experimental design and analysis for undergraduate students in the applied fields. For this purpose, a study was conducted with 105 students taking the lesson of Experimental Design and Analysis at the Faculty of Agriculture of Ondokuz Mayis University during the fall period of 2016-2017. During the period, students were given homework assignments regarding all the experimental designs. All homework were evaluated over 100 points. At the end of the period, a survey study was conducted with 83 students entering the exam and evaluated their success. In the analysis of the study, Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the factors affecting descriptive statistics, t test, chi-square analysis and the success at the end of the period. For the analysis of the data, Ondokuz Mayis University licensed SPSS package program was used. According to the results of the research, it was determined that only the ability of liking lessons had a significant effect on the success of the students except age, gender, marital status, child status, work status, income, income sufficiency, average expense, sheltering status, smoking, breakfast status, number of attending lesson. According to this, the students of the lesson liking were 8.3 times more successful than those who did not like it. It has been determined that assigning homework about latin square designs and post-hoc tests were effective on the success in the experimental design lessons. It has also been found that the achievement may be increased by 9.3 times if at least three homework were made. As a result, the students who take this course should be informed at the beginning of the semester why they should take the lesson and break the prejudices. In addition, to be successful this course should be concentrated on postdocs tests and latin square design and the period should be terminated by giving at least three homework.
