Taxonomic characteristics of Meloidogyne exigua Goeldi which is a new root-knot nematodes for Turkey and other root-knot nematode species

In this study, the areas where greenhouse vegetable production is made in Eskişehir, Burdur, Isparta and Antalya was examined as nematological. The species of Root-knot (Meloidogyne spp.) were determined which have a great importance among the plant parasitic nematode species taken from the samples. In the end of analysis, Meloidogyne exigua (Göldi) Chitwood was determined which is a new species for nematod fauna of Turkey along with M. incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood, M. hapla Chitwood and M. javanica (Treub) Chitwood which are already known in the area. Taxonomic (morphological and morphometric) characteristics of M. exigua were given in the study.
