Gaziantep ve Kilis illeri kırmızı mercimek tarlalarındaki canavar otlarının [Orobanche crenata Forsk. ve Phelipanche aegyptiaca (Pers.)] yaygınlığı, yoğunluğu ve üreticilerin yabancı ot sorunlarına yaklaşımları
Kırmızı mercimek yetiştiriciliği
yapılan alanlarda bitki koruma sorunları içerisinde yabancı ot problemleri ilk
sırayı almaktadır. Kırmızı mercimek yetiştirilen pek çok alanda tam parazit
yabancı otlardan olan beyaz çiçekli canavar otu (Orobanche crenata Forsk.) ve mısırlı canavar otu [Phelipanche aegyptiaca (Pers.) Pomel.]
yaygın ve yoğun görülen yabancı otlardır ve ciddi verim kayıplarına neden
olabilmektedir.
Prevalence and intensity of broomrapes [Orobanche crenata Forsk. and Phelipanche aegyptiaca (Pers.)] in the red lentil fields in Gaziantep and Kilis provinces and approach of growers to the weed problem
Weeds are the first place between the
plant protection problems in red lentil cultivation. Crenate broomrape (Orobanche crenata Forsk.) and eagyptian
broomrape [Phelipancha egyptiaca (Pers.) Pomel.], are parasite weeds appears
widespread and dense in many red lentil grown areas in Turkey and the species
can result serious yield losses.Gaziantep and Kilis provinces are of
the important provinces in Southeastern Anatolia for red lentil cultivation of
Turkey. This survey study was conducted total 2465 hectare lentil fields in
these provinces aim to determine prevalence and intensity of broomrape in 2007.
As results of the survey; the highest frequency of P. aegyptiaca and O. crenata
were detected in Sahinbey district (80 %) in Gaziantep and Elbeyli district
(71% and 33%) in Kilis. Considering the frequency of broomrapes in surveying
provinces without distinction of species; it was determined that lentil fields
were infested with broomrapes 74.36% in Gaziantep and 53.85% in Kilis
provinces.
Also, a poll study, consists of the
total 70 questions, was done with 51 lentil growers to determine the problems
of lentil cultivation, their strategies for solving the problems, their
knowledge about broomrapes and their training need in this subject. With the
results of the poll studies, important information was taken about weed
problems especially broomrapes and approach to problems of lentil growers in
Gaziantep and Kilis provinces.
