Orta Anadolu Bölgesinde, nadasın yerine geçebilecek alternatif bitkiler içersinde ilk sıralarda yer alan kışlık mercimek yetiştiriciliğinde yabancı ot problemi en büyük sorun olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Kışlık mercimekte ot kontrolü için henüz önerilebilecek bir kimyasalın da bulunmayışı nedeniyle elle ot mücadelesi tek çözüm olarak gözükmektedir. Bu araştırmada, Orta Anadolu koşullarında, kışlık mercimek yetiştiriciliğinde en uygun ot alım zamanı ve sayısının bulunması amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, mercimekte nisan + mayıs olmak üzere iki kez erken dönemde ot alımının uygun olduğunu göstermektedir. Üç kez yapılan ot alımı ekonomik olmamakta, bir kez ise kışlık mercimek için yeterli görülmemektedir. Ancak iki kez de olsa geç kalan ot alımı verime olumsuz yansımıştır.

Winter lentil is one of the recommended plant in a two-year-rotation-system in Central Anatolia but weed is the most important problem in its pruduction. There is not yet recommended herbicide for weed control. There fore hand weeding is the only way of the weed control. The objective of this research was to determine suitable hand weeding frequency of the weed control for winter lentil. Research results indicated that hand weeding in early reason (April and May) in the most appropriate practice for winter lentil. The times hand weeding in economically not feasible and once hand weeding is not enough to control weed effectively. Twice hand weeding when done lates had a negative effect on yield as weel.
