Kronik pelvik ağrının gerçek yaygınlığını tam olarak tespit etmek kolay değildir İstatistiklere göre cinsel şiddet mağduru kadınların %65 inde kronik pelvik ağrı görülmektedir. Batı ülkelerindeki epidemiyolojik veriler bu durumun sıradan bir konu olmadığını ispat etmektedir
