Prof. Andreas Tietze Mustafa Ali'nin Kahire üzerindeki eserini daha önce neşretmişti. Bu sefer gene Ali'nin ünlü eseri Nushatü's-Selâtin'i; İngilizce çevirisi, tıpkıbasım ve lügatçesi ile neşretmiş bulunuyor. Gerek dil, gerekse Türkiye'nin toplumsal tarihi için büyük değeri olan bu kaynak eseri yayınlayarak Prof. Tietze Türk dili ve tarihi alanında önemli bir boşluğu doldurmuştur. Prof. Tietze eserin bütün nüshaları üzerinde mukayeseli olarak metni incelemiş, Hüsrev Paşa nüshasını (müellif için istinsah edilen) esas almıştır. Kahire, Fatih, Hazine, Nuruosmaniye, Yenicami, Revan nüshaları dışındaki nüshalar yararlı olmamıştır.

"This prince was descended of a noble and ancient family, the none of the most considerable nor richest in the kingdom" - wrote about his election the aulic physycian to him, Irishman Bernard O'Connor, the author of a very valuable and interesting book entitled "The History of Poland" published in London in 1698.
