Geleneksel süsleme teknikleri içinde kullanılan pul-boncuk gereçleri, binlerce yıllık geçmişi ile günümüze kadar gelişerek gelen, yapısal ve uygulama olarak farklı özellikler taşıyan bir tekniğin sanatıdır. Pul ve boncuk; giyim, giyim aksesuarları, ayakkabı, çanta, mefruşat, hediyelik eşya, ev eşyaları ve daha birçok alanda süsleme amacıyla yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Giyim ve tekstil sektöründe el işçiliği ile yapılan işlemelerin yanı sıra “pul işleme”, “taş işleme’’ veya ‘’taş transfer’ makineleri ile de uygulanmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı, geçmiş dönemlerden bugüne süsleme gereçleri arasında önemli bir yer tutan pul-boncuk ve parlak taşların işleme tarihi sürecindeki uygulama örneklerini sunmak, çeşitleri konusunda bilgiler vermek, kullanım alanlarını belirtmek, elde ya da makinede işleme tekniklerini ve işlem basamaklarını belirlemektir. Ayrıca bu çalışma; pul-boncuğun günümüz tekstil ve hazır giyim endüstrisi içinde kullanımı, uygulanma teknikleri konusunda bir saptama yapmak amacıyla planlanmış ve yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada verilerin toplanması, çözümü ve yorumlanmasına dayanan betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır.

With thousands of years past, sequin-bead instruments used within traditional ornamentation techniques represent the art of a technique which has come up to today by developing and carries different properties in structure and application. Sequin and bead are extensively used for decorating in many areas such as clothing, clothing accessories, shoes, bags, furnishing, giftware and house ware. In clothing and textile sector, the sequin embroidering is also made by stonework or stone transfer machines as well as embroideries made by hand workmanship. The aim of the research is to present the application samples in the process of embroidery history of the sequin-bead and bright stones holding an important place among ornamentation instruments from past to this day, to give information about their types, to identify their areas of use, to determine its embroidery techniques in hand or machine and its operation steps. Moreover, this study was planned and carried out in order to make a determination about the use of the sequin-bead in today’s textile and ready-wear industry and its application techniques. In the research, the descriptive method based on collecting, solving and interpreting data was used.
