Türkiye Katılım Bankaları ile Malezya İslami Bankalarında Etkinlik ve Performans İlişkisinin Veri Zarflama Yöntemiyle Analizi

Bu çalışmada katılım bankaları ile İslami bankaların performanslarını etkileyen faktörler banka etkinliği temelinde araştırılmaktadır. İslam bankacılığı alanında gelişmiş bir sektöre sahip olan Malezya’daki bankalar esas alınarak, Türkiye’de faaliyette bulunan katılım bankalarının performansları incelenmiştir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak, veri zarflama analizi (VZA) ve regresyon analizlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, bankaların performansını etkileyen faktörlerin iki ülke açısından farklılık gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Türkiye’deki katılım bankalarında performansın sermaye yeterliliğinin güçlendirilmesi yoluyla arttığı, Malezya’daki İslami bankalarda ise faaliyetlerde etkinlik sağlanarak performansın artırıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Investigating the Efficiency and Performance Relationship of Islamic Banks with Data Envelopment Analysis in Turkey and Malaysia

In this study the performance of participation banks and Islamic banks are investigated on the basis of bank efficiency. The performance of Islamic banking industry of Turkey analyzed based on Malaysian banks which are developed in the field of Islamic banking. For this purpose data envelopment analysis (DEA) and regression analysis are implemented. The findings show that the determinants of bank performance are different in terms of the two countries. In conclusion Turkish participation banks raise their performance by strengthening capital adequacy while Malaysian Islamic banks raise their performance by high level of efficiency.
