In-Home PLC Coexistence with Wi-Fi and Ethernet access Networks

In-Home PLC Coexistence with Wi-Fi and Ethernet access Networks

BPL or PLC is relatively a new technology that isconsidered an attractive system to deliver broadbandcommunications over power lines. The main objective of paperis to understand the impact of in-home PLC devices in case ofintegrated environment with other technologies. Initially, FTWSimulator for channel transfer function analysis of an in-homePLC network topology is used. Furthermore, throughmeasurements conducted in laboratory environment differentscenarios are built for different test scenarios and thecoexistence of in-home PLC, Ethernet and Wi-Fi Networks isinvestigated. Toward the end of the paper, throughout differentscenarios the impact on video quality of in-home PLC, will beclosely monitored and evaluated.
