Synthesis and characterization of SiO2 coated cubic Fe3O4 nanoparticles

In this work, Cubic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by chemical methods. The crystal structures and surface morphologies had confirmed by XRD spectroscopy and TEM studies. Synthesized Fe3O4 nanoparticles were coated with SiO2. The effects of SiO2 coating on the structural and magnetic properties of the synthesized nanoparticles were investigated. Magnetic hysteresis properties of the nanoparticles studied using VSM techniques. Histeresis mechanisms (including relevant parameters such as the amplitude of alternating magnetic field, particle size distribution, anisotropy constant, saturation magnetization, surface treatment, the concentrations of particles) responsible for heat dissipation in the synthesized systems of nanoparticles. Magneto-thermal properties were determined by measuring SAR values.
