In this study, stress distributions around circular holes in carbon/epoxy composite plates under biaxial loading conditions are investigated. At first, the derivation of the approximate polynomial stress distributions developed by Filiou and Soutis is given [10]. Then, the stress distributions are obtained from the finite element models that are subjected to loading at various biaxiality ratios (λ). The analytical results are compared with the results obtained from FEM and explanations are given
