Overview of Microplastic Removal From the Aquatic Environment

Plastic products are used by most societies worldwide and their production has increased dramatically since their initial commercial development. Particles smaller than 5 mm are defined as microplastic. Microplastics, which have become the most important pollutant in recent years, cause serious accumulation and danger in all compartments of the ecosystem. In this study, the results and comparisons of the studies on the structure of microplastics and their removal from the aquatic environment until today were made.
