ÖZETBir yaşındaki erkek Merinoslar üzerinde, ilaçlı kırkımdakietkisini kontrol etmek amacı ile Cyclophosphamide uygulamasıyapılmıştır. ilacın etki zamanı ile yapağı verimi ve yapağının yolunup alınabilmesi için gerekli olan zaman, kontrolgurubu ile karşılaştırmalı olarak, incelenmiş ve bulunmuş olansonuçların bu konudaki literatür ile uyarlılık' halinde olduklarıgörülmüştür.CHEMICAL SHEARING OF SHEEP AND A CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE APPLICATION ON MERlNO RAMS1". İn this investigation theCyc1ophosphamide was used tosheare the .Merino Rams underErzurum conditions.2. 56 Merino Rams, one yearold, were used in this study. Theywere randomly divided into twogroups. Both of the groups werekept 'under similar conditions ~mdthey were never shorn before.4. A 4 % solution of CyCıophosphamidewas given to animalsorally, on the basis of 25 mg./kg.boCıy weight. The experiİnetal animalswere no treated spesificallybefore the administration of thedrug.5. Up to sixth day, after theadministration of th~ drug, animalsshO'\>J'ed no clinical signs.6· At the contrals done bypulling of fleece 10cally, at thesixth day of the dosing of animals,the skin was found completely bareunderneath. For this reason toremove the fleece it was waited ti11to 2] st. days, as the literature statedA:fter that time all the fleecewere Temoved from the animals.Animals body came out with short,unuorm newgrowth hair.7. The fleece could not beremoved from the six of the 28animals. İn the animals the timespent for removing was 'differentamQng animals. İnspite of thisfact the averag~ time spent for chemicalshearing was shorter 'thanthe mechanical shearing.It was conc1uded that 30 mg.drug for per kilogram body is necessaryt9 eliıninate this variancewhich might come from the indidividual.8, At the comparison of thefleece obtained fro~ both groups,the average weight of fleece wasgreater in the drug administred_group than the mechanically shomgroup. Because therc was not anyshearing loss. in the former.9. General1y it can be statedthat the method of chemical shearingcould ve replaced widely themechanical sheaöng in the veryfuture. Bu it would be necessarythat:a. The drug must be preparedso in a form that theanimal raiser can dose iteasely,b. The cost of the drug apHedper animaİ must becheaper than the cost ofmechanical shearing,c. And much research mustbe done on the side ~ffectsof the drug to be sure thatit is not harmfull to anima1sand also to humanhealth at alL.
