THE RELATIONSHIPS between PERGAMON and AIGIAI in ANCIENT PERIOD

Hellenistic kingdom of Pergamon is one of the most important political and economic forces and it hasremarkable close relationships with the ancient city of Aigai. Philetairos the first ruler of the Kingdomof Pergamon have made donations to the Aigai and Temple of Apollo Chresterios and tried to show theimpact on the city. However, especially in the first half of the third century, Aigai was influenced by theKingdom of Seleucid instead of Pergamon. After the peace treaty of Apamea in 188, Aigai, Pergamoneffect is particularly strong in terms of architecture and urban planning. Ceramic findings and works ofsculpture from the excavations at Aigai, tangible evidence of the direct relationship that exists with thePergamon. In particular, the two statues bearing the signature of the sculptor Menestratos of Pergamon, the most important evidence of the relationship between these.
