THE EFFECT OF MICRODIETS ON SURVIVAL AND GROWTH RATE OF GILTHEAD SEA BREAM (Sparus aurata L, 1758) LARVAE GROWTH IN DIFFERENT SALINITY LEVEL

In this study, gilthead seabream larvae were fed with microdiets having added digestive enzymes (porcine, pancreatin enzymes) in between 16th-30th day after yolk resorption and their growth, weight and survival rate were determined. After yolk resorption (the 4th day) until the 15th day, larvae being fed with only rotifer (B. pilicatilis), between 16th-20th days larvae were fed with rotifer and microdiets together. Between the 21th and 30th days larvae were fed only with microdiets. By taking into consideration the salinity desire of larvae in constituting trial groups, larvae were fed with microdiets in both   25ppt and ‰40. The growth was founded significant in all of trial groups that were fed with live food (in ‰40 and 25‰ salinity) according to those fed with microdiet (P < 0.05). The growth in ‰25 salinity was founded significant both for live food and microdiet in ‰40 salinity (P < 0.05). The highest survival rate was founded significant by feeding live food in 25‰ salinity (P<0.05).
