A case of mammary neoplasm in a male cat
Çalışmanın materyalini Ankara Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Doğum ve Jinekoloji Anabilim Dalı Kliniğine memelerinde kitleler bulunduğu şikayetiyle getirilen 7 yıl önce kastre edilmiş 9 yaşlı bir erkek kedi oluşturdu. Alınan anamnezde kedinin iki yaşında kastre edildiği ve kastrasyon sonrası sürekli aşırı libido isteği gösterdiği için 7 yıldır progesteron uygulandığı öğrenildi. Yapılan klinik ve ultrasonografik muayene sonucunda bu yapıların meme tümörü olduğuna karar verildi. Kitlelerin histopatolojik muayenesi aynı fakültenin Patoloji Anabilim Dalı Laboratuvarında yapıldı ve histopatolojik muayene sonucunda, bu yapıların papillar kistik adenom olduğu belirtildi. Sonuç olarak erkek kedilerde de meme tümörü olgusuna rastlanabileceği kanısına varıldı.

The aim of this case report was to attract attention to the mammary neoplasm which occurs rarely in the male cats. The material of case report was a male cat which was 9 years-old and neutured before 7 years suffering from mammary gland nodules which brought to The Clinic of Obstetrics and Gyneacology Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ankara University. At anamnesis, the cat which was castrated to two years old and after castration because of hypersexuality was applied progesterone for 7 years. According to the clinical and ultrasonographic examinations, the case was diagnosed as mammary neoplasm. Histopathological examination was performed The laboratory of Pathology Department of same Faculty. The results of histopathological examination, the masses were diagnosed as a cystic adenoma papilliferum. As a result the mammary gland neaplasia occurs rarely in the male cat .
