Çocukluk çağı teratomları: 15 hastanın incelenmesi

1988-1995 yılları arasında kliniğimizde ameliyat edilen 15 teratom hastası geriye dönük olarak incelendi. Hastaların yedisi yenidoğan, diğerleri ise bir ay ile 18 yaşları arasındaydı. Hastaların 13'ü kız, ikisi erkekti (K/E:6.5/1). Teratomların 13'ü (%86) sakrokoksigeal, biri över (%6) ve biri (%6) karıniçi yerleşimliydi. Üç hastada hidrosefali, sağ fokomeli, rektum duplikasyonu ile doğumsal katarakt ek anomalileri vardı (%20). Tüm hastalarda kitle total olarak çıkarıldı. Teratomların histolojik incelemesinde 12'si matür üçü immatür iken, hiçbirinde malignité yoktu. Matür teratomlarda ektodermal kaynaklı; nöroglial yapılar, pleksus koroideus, deri ve ekleri vb., mezodermal kaynaklı; kemik, kıkırdak, bağ dokusu, düz ve çizgili kas vb., endodermal kaynaklı; gastrointestinal ve solunum sistemi epiteli, tiroid bezi, pankreas vb. doku örneklen saptandı.

Childhood teratomas: Analysis of fifteen patiens

Teratomas in 15 patients operated at the de-partment of pédiatrie surgery during the years 1988-1995 were retrospectively evaluated. Seven patients were newborn and the rest aged from one month to 18 years. The female to male ratio was 6.5:1. Thirte-en teratomas(86%) were sited at the sacrococcygeal area and the others occured in ovaryfone patient,6%) and retroperitoneum(one patient,6%). Three patients(20%) had associated congenital anomalies, such as hydrocephaly, right phocomely, rectal duplication and congenital cataract. All tumors were completely resected. Of the 15 tumors, 12 were histologicaly mature, three were immature. There was no malignant tissue in any teratomas. Ectodermal derivatives, such as neuroglial tissues, choroid plexus, adnexal derivatives etc., mesodermal elements, such as bone, cartilage, connective tissue, smooth and skeletal muscle etc., endodermal derivatives, such as gastrointestinal and respiratory epithelia, thyroid gland, pancreatic tissues etc. were observed in the mature teratomas.
