Öz Kent kalkınmasının önünü açacak her türlü kamu politikası bugün dünyada kentlerin yerini göz ardı edemediğiz gerçeğiyle birleşince hayati bir önem kazanmaktadır. Yerel kamu politikalarının başarılı olarak adledilmesinde halkın memnuniyeti büyük bir etkendir. Memnuniyetin ölçülebilmesi için ise halkın belli bir bilgi düzeyine sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu fikirden yola çıkılarak oluşturulan bu araştırmada öncelikle Filyos kentinde Vadi Projesi hakkında halkın genel bilgi ve memnuniyet düzeyinin ölçülmesi amaçlanmıştır. Daha sonra da proje süreci sonrasında kentte ortaya çıkabilecek sorunlar hakkında halkın taşıdığı kaygı ve projenin kentin kalkınmasındaki rolü katılımcıların görüşlerine dayanılarak tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan alan araştırması sonucunda elde edilen en önemli bulgulardan biri projeye yönelik halkın genel bilgi ve memnuniyet düzeyinin belli bir seviyede olduğudur. Halkın projeye yönelik daha ziyade olumlu bir görüşe sahip olduğu bu araştırmayla ortaya çıkmıştır ki projenin bölgenin kalkınmasına katkı sağlayacağına dair algı oldukça yaygındır. Katılımcıların cevapları doğrultusunda halkın en büyük kaygısının ise çevreye ve kentleşmeye yönelik oluşacak muhtemel sorunlarla ilgi olduğu da tespitler arasındadır.

All kinds of public policies that will pave the way for urban development gain vital importance when combined with the fact that we cannot ignore the place of cities in the world today. Public satisfaction is a major factor in the success of local public policies. In order to measure satisfaction, the public must have a certain level of knowledge. In this research, which was created based on this idea, first of all, it was aimed to measure the general knowledge and satisfaction level of the people about the Valley Project in the city of Filyos. Then, the public's concern about the problems that may arise in the city after the project process and the role of the project in the development of the city were tried to be determined based on the opinions of the participants. One of the most important findings obtained as a result of the field research is that the general knowledge and satisfaction level of the public towards the project is at a certain level. It has been revealed by this research that the public has a rather positive view towards the project, and the perception that the project will contribute to the development of the region is quite common. In line with the answers of the participants, it is also among the findings that the biggest concern of the public is related to the possible problems that will arise regarding the environment and urbanization.
