Bu makalenin gayesi, deniz kazalarında gemiadamlarına adil muamele yapılmasına dair milletlerarası hukuktaki son gelişmeleri ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada bir deniz kazasını müteakip gemiadamlarına adil muamele yapılmasına dair oluşturulan Rehber Kuralların çağdaş, dengeli ve uzlaşmaya dayalı önemli bir hukuki metin olduğu, bu kurallara titizlikle uyulması durumunda haksız muamele olaylarının asgari seviyeye düşeceği tespit edilmiştir. Rehber Kurallar, ihtiyari olmakla beraber milletlerarası düzeyde bağlayıcı nitelikte bir belgeye ulaşılması bakımından bir dönüm noktası teşkil etmektedir.

This article’s purpose is to present the last developments regarding the fair treatment of seafarers in the event of a maritime accident in international law. In this study, it is concluded that guidelines on the fair treatment of seafarers following the event of a maritime accident is an important legal text which are contemporary, balanced and based upon compromise, that the cases involving unfair treatment would reduce to minimum degree if this guidelines are punctiliously obeyed. The guidelines are a significant milestone from the point of achieving a compulsory instrument in international level in spite of the fact that they are voluntary
