Yeni Koronavirüs (Covid-19) Salgını ve Sağlıklı Küresel Ekonomi İçin Politika Uygulamaları: IMF'nin Rolü

Yeni koronavirüsün (COVID-19) küresel yayılımı, dünya çapında ortaya çıkan bir insanlık trajedisidir. COVID-19 ile ilgili olarak öncelikli politika adımları şüphesiz hastalığın etkilerinin izlenmesi, hafifletilmesi ve kontrol altına alınmasıdır. COVID-19 bireylerin sağlıklarına olduğu kadar kişisel ve ekonomik refahlarına da önemli zararlar vermektedir. Bulaşıcı bir salgınının ekonomiyi etkilediği birçok kanal bulunmaktadır. Sağlık otoritelerinin önlemleri virüs salgınını kontrol altına almaya yardımcı olabilir. Bunun yanında hükümetler, merkez bankaları, düzenleyici ve denetleyici kurumların da salgının ekonomik olumsuzluğunu dengeleyebilecek önlemler almaları gerekmektedir. Özellikle halk sağlığı ve ekonomik konularda küresel işbirliği esastır. Uluslararası Para Fonu (IMF) bu süreçte salgından etkilenen ülkelere mali destek de dâhil olmak üzere çeşitli destekler sağlamaktadır.

Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Outbreak and Policy Actions for Healthy Global Economy: The Role of IMF

The global spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a worldwide humanity tragedy. The priority policy steps concerning COVID-19 are undoubtedly monitoring, alleviating and controlling the impacts of the disease. COVID-19 brings about substantial harms for personal and economic wealth as much as individuals’ health. There are many channels through which an outbreak affects the economy. The measures of health authorities can help to keep the virus outbreak under control. Also, the governments, central banks, and regulatory and supervisory agencies should take measures that can offset the economic downside of the outbreak. Global cooperation is essential especially in public health and economic issues. International Money Fund (IMF) provides various supports including financial support to countries affected by outbreak within this period.
