Plant viruses in soilless culture (Hydroponics)

Soilless culture, known as hydroponics, offers an alternative way to plant growers who laced soil and water-related problems such as soilbornc pathogens and pests, soil and water salinity, chemical residues, nutrient deficiency and water shortage in soil. Since hydroponic systems are designed to recirculate nutrient solution in closed devices, plants in these systems can be exposed to the risk of diseases caused by water-transmissible pathogens. In this review, diseases caused by plant viruses, particularly in hydroponic systems, are summarized brietly.
