Bir yatılı bölge okulunda akran istismarı ve farkındalık eğitiminin etkisi

Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir yatılı bölge okulunda ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencileri arasında akran istismarı durumunu ve akran istismarı konusunda yapılan farkındalık eğitiminin etkisini belirlemektir. 2008 yılı Mayıs ayında 112 öğrenci ile yürütülen, yarı-deneysel ve öntest-sontest tasarımlı olarak planlanan bu araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar şöyledir: Öğrencilerin %24.1’i okuldayken, %26.8’i sınıftayken, %19.6’sı okul bahçesindeyken, %21.2’si yemekhanedeyken, %27.3’ü yatakhanedeyken, %24.1’i okul gidiş-dönüşlerinde kendisini duygusal olarak kötü hissettiğini belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin %24.1’i haftada birkaç kez diğer öğrenciler tarafından fiziksel istismara maruz bırakıldığını, %46.4’ü son bir yıl içinde sözel ve fiziksel olarak istismara maruz kaldığını ve %44.2’si ise mağduriyetini hiç kimseye söylemediğini ifade etmiştir. Peer abuse at a boarding district school and the effect of awareness training

The aim of this study was to determine the status of the peer abuse among the middle school students, at a boarding district school and to examine the effect of awareness training about peer abuse. In this research which was planned as a semi-experimental and pretest-posttest design study which was carried with 112 students in May 2008, the results obtained from are as follows: Students stated that they felt bad emotionally themselves at the following areas; 24% of at the school, 26.8% of in the classroom, 19.6% of in the playground, 21.2 % of at the refectory, 27.3% of in the dormitory and 24.1% of on the way to school. They said that they had been abused physically by the other students several times in a week (24.1%), 46.4% of the students had been exposed to verbal-physical abuse in last one-year, and 44.2% of the students didn’t tell anyone about their victimization. Peer abuse knowledge level scores of the students were pretest 44.7±22.0 and posttest 68.5±20.5.
