Antara b. Şeddad’ın şiirlerindeki belagi ve sanatsal güzellikler ve onun savaşçı şahsiyetine temas etmeden, bu makalede onun gerçek şahsiyetini oluşturan ve birçok araştırmacıdan gizli kalan en önemli faktör –kölelik hissi- üzerinde durulmuştur. Böylece onun yaşamının bir kısmının kölelikle geçmesi hasebiyle, köleliğin hayatı üzerindeki etkisi ve bu etkinin şiirlerindeki yansımaları, yine şiirleri ışığında gerçek şahsiyetinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Kölelik Antara’yı psikolojik olarak hayatı boyunca etkilemiştir. Antara derinden hissettiği bu aşağlık kompleksini savaş, atılganlık, hatta güzel ahlak, iffet ile bile telafi etmeye çalışmıştır.

Without digging into the Literary beauties of the poetry of Antarah ibn Shaddad Al-Absi, and what he lived through adventures and championships on his live; In this article we are going to prove the personal hub of this poet. We are trying to prove if his slavery live had any negative impact on his personality? And more importantly if there was any negative impact on his practical behaviors? We are also looking to see if he was feeling any type of humiliation, shames and inferiority; after his father freed him? How was his practical behavior after freedom? How did he refill this hateful personal gap and what did he replace his shameful background with? Was he filling this personal gap with virtues and love and tenderness or war, lethality and bloodshed? In this article, with support of strong evidences of his poems, we will prove that he replaced his dark and hateful background with generosity, love and good behaviors.
