Özefagus duplikasyon kistleri, konjenital ön barsak duplikasyon kistleridir. İleumdan sonra ikinci sıklıktaki gastrointestinal sistem duplikasyon kistleridir. Duplikasyon kistleri nadiren lümenle ilişki gösterebilir. Konjenital olduklarından sıklıkla çocukluk çağında semptom verir. Literatürde az sayıda erişkin olguda semptomatik özefagus duplikasyon kisti bildirilmiştir. Bu sunumda ileri yaşta nadiren semptom veren özefagiyal duplikasyon kisti tanısında magnetik rezonans görüntülemenin, kistin lümen ile ilişkisinin araştırılmasında ise magnetik rezonans enterografinin kullanılabileceği anlatılmak istenmiştir.

Duplication cysts of the esophagus are congenital foregut duplication cysts. In addition they are the second most common duplication cysts of the gastrointestinal tract following ileal duplication cysts. They are rarely related to lumen. Since they have been assorted as congenital abnormality these cysts mostly give symptoms in children. Other few cases of symptomatic adult duplication cysts were reported by some literature. This presentation suggests that duplication cyst of the esophagus can be diagnosed by magnetic resonance in an elderly patient complaining of chest pain and that magnetic resonance enterography can be performed to demonstrate the relation between duplication cyst and lumen.
