Radiographic Findings in Renal Osteodystrophy Secondary to Chronic Renal Failure: A Case Report

Chronic renal failure can be defined as a chronic and progressive deterioration in the metabolic-endocrin functions and regulating fluid-electrolite balance due to the decrease in the glomerular filtration values. As chronic renal failure progresses, serum phosphor levels increase and calcium levels decrease and this may result in secondary hyperparathyroidism. Secondary hyperparathyroidism may give rise to bone defects known as renal osteodystrophy. In this case report, radiographic findings of a patient with chronic renal failure who has hyperparathyroidism secondary to parathyroid adenoma were presented and dental management of such patients were discussed
