Yaygın sabunlaşma her iki olgunun dış muayeneözelliklerinin korunmasına neden olmuştur.
Two Adipocere Cases
"Adipocere" which is an exceptional modification of putrefactionis postmortem change of corpses which were found inmoist soil or water. Adipocere formation is seen mostly at localanatomic regions. Body fats which are hydrolyzed to fattyacids primarily react with ammonium salts. Then fatty acidsreact with minerals like calcium and magnesium salts. Theend product is combination of calcium and magnesium soapwhich is wax-like organic substance and resistant to putrefaction. From the perspective of forensic science, adipocere formationcould give information about the identification of the victim. Also old and fresh scars could be also detected more easily. We present the autopsy records of adipocere bodies belongedtwo victims who were reported missing. Although craniumbones were visible, "general adipocere" was observed in bothtwo cases and this formation preserved the outer examinationfindings.
