Removal of reactive yellow 145 with wheat bran (WB) has been investigated by using a two-stage experimental design. It was determined that adsorbent dosage, initial pH value, initial dye concentration and contact time are effective parameters on dye removal. Using a central composite design, it was also found that optimum values of these parameters are 1.25 g/lt adsorbent dosage, 0.5 initial pH, 100 mg/lt initial dye concentration and 256 min contact time. The interaction among adsorbent dosage, initial pH and initial dye concentration has been seen to be crucial statistically based on ANOVA. Adsorption equilibrium data were analyzed and it was determined that Langmuir isotherm model explained the adsorption mechanism in a better way. Meanwhile, it was also determined that adsorption kinetics is more suitable for pseudo second order kinetics model
