Amaç: Bu çal›flman›n amac› eklem replasman cerrahisinde kullan›lan siprofloksasin eklenmifl kemik çi- mentosunun biyomekanik özelliklerini araflt›rmakt›. Çal›flma plan›: ‹lk grup (kontrol grubu) sadece çimento, di¤er 4 grup, s›ras›yla, 500 mg, 1000 mg, 1500 mg ve 2000 mg siprofloksasin eklenmifl 40 g kemik çimentosu içermekte idi. Aksiyel kompresyon testle- ri 50.000 Newton kapasiteli basma-çekme test cihaz› ile yap›ld›. Bulgular: Kontrol grubunun aksiyel dayan›m› 80.2±4.3 MPa iken, siprofloksasin verilen gruplarda bu de¤er dozlar›n artt›r›ld›¤› grup s›ralamas›na göre 74.5±5.4 MPa, 70.6±4.8 MPa, 70.5±4.7 MPa ve 69.3±3.4 MPa olarak bulundu. Ç›kar›mlar: Kemik çimentosuna 500 ila 1500 mg siprofloksasin eklenmesi Amerikan Test ve Malzeme Cemiyeti’nin tavsiye etti¤i de¤er olan 70.0 MPa’n›n üzerinde mekanik aksiyel dayan›m sa¤lamaktad›r ve bu özelli¤iyle eklem replasman cerrahisinde güvenle kullan›labilir.
