Anket çalışmamıza katılan diş hekimlerinin %71'i (n=860) lisans eğitimi sırasında posterior kompozit eğitimi almışken, eğitim almayan hekimlerin %62,4'ü (n=219) mezuniyet sonrasında eğitime katılmıştır.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the education on posterior resin composite practice and adhesive material choices among Turkish Dentists. Materials and Method: On-line questionnaire was sent to all dentists whose e-mail address was registered to the Turkish Dental Association (TDB). The questions do not contain any personal data. Survey includes questions about gender, experience, sector, undergraduate education, whether or not to receive posterior composite application training, post-graduate composite education, and adhesive materials used under composite resin restorations. The collected data were analyzed statistically. Results: A total of 1211 dentists [678 men (56%); 533 women (44%)] participated in this study. The majority of participants [81.8% (n = 990)] worked in the private sector. While 71% (n = 860) of the participants received posterior composite education during their undergraduate education, 62.4% (n = 219) of the participants who did not receive education attended the education after graduation. Percentages of the choices about etch&rinse, self-etch or any of them were 32.8%(n = 397), 52.7% (n = 638) and 14.5% (n = 176) respectively. The longevity of experience was inversely proportional to the percentage of studying posterior composite practice during undergraduate education. Regardless of gender and experience, about 50% of participants preferred self-etch adhesive under composite resin restorations. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the study, it may be said that participants with more experience have lower rates of composite education within the undergraduate education, and participants generally preferred self-etch adhesives that do not require extra acid application, regardless of experience and gender.
