A Research Study on Finding the Effects of Health Sector Employees Perception of Work Stress, Work-Family and Work-Family-Life Perceptions over Resigning Intention

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of employees’ perceptions of work stress, work-family conflict and work-family-life satisfaction on their intention to quit. Research was conducted on 206 health professionals currently employed in private hospitals operating in Istanbul province, Turkey. The empirical findings suggest that, employees that are exposed to job stress and coping with workfamily conflict has been shown to positively influence their intention to leave. Job stress, on the other hand, has a negative impact on the overall satisfaction variables whilst the most powerful impact was found to be on work satisfaction. Hospital employees’ work and family satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on their intention to leave while their intention to quit was not affected by the life satisfaction. Another finding is that, work-family conflict negatively influences both turnover intentions and work, family, and life satisfaction
