Örgütlerde Güç Kavramı: Eleştirel Yönetim Çalışmaları İle Kaynak Bağımlılığı Yaklaşımı'nın Bakışlarına Dair Karşılaştırmalı Bir Analiz

Bu çalışmanın temel sorunsalı, eleştirel yönetim çalışmaları ile Kaynak Bağımlılığı Yaklaşımı'nın örgütlerde güç kavramına bakışlarında ayrışma olup olmadığının ortaya konmasıdır. Çalışmada ulaşılan belli başlı sonuçlar şu şekildedir: Eleştirel yönetim çalışmalarının temelini oluşturan Eleştirel Kuram'ın, tarihsel ve sosyo-kültürel bağlamından koparmadan ele aldığı güç, tanımlanabilir bir kavram olmayıp, Kuram'da adeta gücün ne olduğu ile ilgilenilmemektedir. Gücün nesnel bir varlığa sahip olmaktan ziyade, hayatın her alanına gömülü/bütünleşik (embedded) oluşu, böyle bir ayrım yaparak gücü incelemeyi zorlaştırmaktadır. "Kültür endüstrileri" toplumda mevcudiyeti zorunlu olan güç ilişkilerinin sürekliliğini sağlamakta önemli bir araç olarak görülmektedirler. Öte yandan, Kaynak Bağımlılığı Yaklaşımı'nda güç kavramı; dışarıda nesnel olarak mevcut, statik ve işlevsel olup örgütlerin güç ilişkisi gönüllüdür. Bu yaklaşım, gücü doğuran ve dönüştüren etkenleri araştırma amacı taşımamaktadır. Yaklaşım'ın "işlevsel" güç anlayışı uyarınca örgütler, çevresel unsurlara bağımlılıklarını azaltmaya çalışarak aktif bir profil çizmektedirler

Concept of Power in Organisations: A Comparative Analysis of Critical Management Studies and Resource Dependence Perspective

The main subject of this study is to display whether there is a difference between critical management studies and resource dependence perspective with respect to their view of concept of power in organisations. Some notable results that are come up with by this study are following: Critical Theory which forms base of critical management studies deals with power without detaching it from its historical and socio-cultural context. So, power is not easy to define and yet the theory is almost not interested in defining it. Since power is embedded in everything in life rather than having an objective existence out there, it is difficult to analyse this concept. "Culture industries" are seen as important tools to secure continuity of power relations which are inescapable in the society. On the other hand, according to resource dependence perspective power concept has an objective existence out there, is static, and, functional and power relations of organisations are voluntary. This perspective does not aim to search for factors that produce and transform power. In accordance with this "functional" power approach, organisations behave actively by trying to decrease their dependence on environmental factors
