Suda dağılmaya karşı duraylılık deney sonuçları ile agregaların fraktal boyutu arasındaki ilişkiler

Ekonomik değere sahip karbonatlı kayaların bozunmaya karşı duraylılıkları, kullanılabilir olmaları bakımından oldukça önemlidir. Bu tür kayaların, bozunmaya karşı dirençleri laboratuvar koşullarında suda dağılmaya karşı duraylılık indeksi (SDI) ile belirlenebilmektedir. SDI deneyleri iki çevrim olarak yürütülmekle birlikte, literatürde çoklu çevrim deneylerine de rastlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, SDI çevrim sayısının, kaya tane şekli üzerindeki etkisinin fraktal geometri yaklaşımı kullanılarak araştırılması amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmada, kökenleri, yapısal ve dokusal özellikleri birbirinden farklı yedi çeşit kaya örneği kullanılmıştır. SDI deneyleri toplam 10 çevrim olarak yürütülmüş ve her çevrim sonrasında tanelerin geometrik değişimleri fraktal boyut değerleri (D) ile ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç olarak, her çevrim sonunda SDI değeri azalırken, tanelerin ortalama, D, değeri de azalmaktadır. Fraktal boyutlardaki en belirgin değişim 4. çevrim sonuna kadar elde edilmiş olup, diğer çevrim sonlarındaki değişim ihmal edilebilir düzeydedir.
