İnfantil osteopetrozis ve rikets

Osteopetrozis artmış kemik dansitesi ile karakterize nadir bir hastalıktır. Rikets infantil osteopetrozisin paradoksal bir komplikasyonudur ve ekstrasellüler sıvıda normal kalsiyum-fosfor dengesini sağlamak için osteoklastların yetersiz olmasından kaynaklanır. Total vücut kalsiyum dengesi belirgin olarak pozitif olmasına rağmen, serum kalsiyum-fosfor bileşikleri yeni oluşan kondroid ve osteoid dokunun mineralizasyonunu sağlayamazsa rikets ortaya çıkar. Bu yazıda infantil osteopetrozis ve rikets birlikteliği olan 6 aylık bir erkek hasta sunulmuştur.

Infantile osteopetrosis and rickets

Osteopetrosis is a rare disease characterized by increased bone density. Rickets is a paradoxical complication of osteopetrosis, resulting from the inability of the osteoclasts to maintain calcium-phosphorus balance in the extracellular fluid. Despite a markedly positive total body calcium balance in osteopetrosis, rickets can occur when the serum calcium-phosphorus product is insufficient for minerilization of newly formed chondroid and osteoid. Here we report a 6-months-old boy who has both osteopetrosis and rickets.
