Self-immolation of Muhammed Bouzazis parked popular uprisings known as Arab Spring throughout the MENA region. The process that brought about regime changes in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen in a relatively shortspan of time seems to have reversed with Syrian regime s success to stay in power against the armed opposition. The ouster of the first democratically elected Egyptian president in a coup, continuation of political in stability in Tunisia and Libya, the failure of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference to produce any tangible political results allincrease the uncertainties in the region. The disputes between groups, on the one hand, and AQAP activities and the US fight against the terrorist group, on the other, deep entheal ready existing faultlines in Yemen. This study focuses on the causes of the uprisings in Yemen, the popular demands, the reaction of the regime to the sedemand sand role of international actors through out the uprisings.
