Bilindiği gibi; I. Dünya Savaşı, Kırım Savaşı’ndan sonra dünyanın ikinci modern savaşı idi. Bu savaş, büyük orandaki insan ölümleriyle Avrupa için olduğu kadar Osmanlı Devleti açısından da bir felaketti. Hatta ölüm-kalım mücadelesiydi. Ancak Osmanlı Devleti için bu beka mücadelesi, 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı’ndan sonra Rumeli’deki büyük toprak kayıpları ve Müslümanlara yönelik mezalim ile başlamış ve I. Dünya Savaşı’na kadar devam etmişti. Bu mücadelenin yaşandığı ve Müslümanların zulme uğradığı yerlerden biri de Makedonya idi. Bu zulmü yapan milletlerden biri de Yunanlılar idi. Bu makalenin amacı; I. Dünya Savaşı öncesi dönemde, Makedonya Müslümanlarının karşılaştıkları bu Yunan mezalimini ve buna karşı Osmanlı Devleti’nin tavrını, Osmanlı arşiv belgeleri ışığında değerlendirmektir

As it is known, the First World War was the second modern war of the world after the Crimean War. This war was a catastrophe for the Ottoman Empire as much as for Europe with large-scale human deaths. In fact, it was a life and death struggle. However, this struggle of the Ottoman Empire for survival had started with the great land losses and atrocities against Muslims in Rumelia after the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 and continued until the World War I. One of the places where this struggle was experienced and the Muslims were persecuted was Macedonia. One of the nations who inflicted that persecution were the Greeks. The aim of this article is to evaluate the attitude of the Ottoman Empire against the Greek atrocities, which were faced by Macedonian Muslims in the pre-First World War period, in the light of the Ottoman archival documents.
