Sosyal Medya Ve Aşı Karşıtı Hareketler: COVID-19 Pandemisinde Sosyal Medyanın Aşı Karşıtlığı Üzerine Etkileri

2019 yılında sonra tüm dünyaya yayılan ve COVID-19 olarak bilinen yeni tip Koronavirüs salgını, COVID-19 pozitif vakalarına paralel olarak Mart 2020'de Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) tarafından küresel bir salgın olarak ilan edilmiştir. Pandemi aynı zamanda virüs, hastalık, tedavi, standart çalışma prosedürleri, tecrit ve aşı gibi konularda çeşitli sahte haberlerin ve aşırı miktarda bilginin yayılmasına neden olmuştur. İnfodemi olarak bilinen bu olgu aşı karşıtı hareketlerin artmasına neden olarak konuyla ilgili çözümlerin üretilmesini de zorlaştırmıştır. Sahte haberlerin yayılımı endişe verici bir hale gelmiş, dünya çapındaki devlet kurumları bu yayılmayı azaltabilmek adına halkı şüpheli haberleri doğrulamaya teşvik etmek zorunda kalmış ve geleneksel medya aracılığıyla araştırmaya yönlendirmek gibi çeşitli önlemler almak zorunda kalmıştır. Makale bu çerçevede aşı karşıtı hareketlerin tarihçesine inerek, COVID-19 pandemisinde sosyal medyada yaşanan aşı karşıtı hareketlerin etiyolojisini açıklamaktadır. Makale COVID-19 pandemisinde komplo teorilerinin neden bu kadar artış gösterdiği ile ilgili çeşitli saptamalarda bulunarak bu teorilerin sosyal medyada nasıl geliştiği ve çoğaldığına dair açıklamalara gitmektedir.
