Kardeş İstismarı: Birey Üzerindeki Etkileri, Ebeveynlerin Verdikleri Tepkiler, Yaygınlığı ve Önlenmesi

Kardeş istismarı bireylerin yaşamını olumsuz etkileyen ve aile içi şiddetin en yaygın türü olarak belirtilen toplumsal bir sorun olmasına rağmen, gerek literatürde gerekse yapılan çalışmalarda büyük ölçüde göz ardı edilmektedir. Kardeş istismarı toplum tarafından aile içi bir problem olarak görülmekte, çoğu zaman aileler tarafından görmezlikten gelinmekte ya da verilen yanlış tepkilerle istismar ve etkileri farkında olmadan pekiştirilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı bireylerin yaşamlarında kısa ve uzun vadede birçok olumsuz etkisi olan kardeş istismarının birey üzerindeki etkilerini ve istismara verilen ebeveyn tepkilerini tanımlamak, yaygınlığı ve önlenmesi konularına değinerek konu ile ilgili farkındalığı artırmaktır.

Sibling Abuse: The Effects on the Individual, the Responses of the Parents, Its Prevalence and Prevention

Although sibling abuse is a social problem that is mentioned as the most common type of domestic violence and negatively affect the lives of individuals, it has been largely overlooked both in literature and studies. Sibling abuse is seen as an intrafamilial problem by the society, most of the time it is being ignored by families or with given incorrect responses abuse and its effects is reinforced without being aware. The purpose of this study is to identify many short and long term negative effects of sibling abuse in the lives of individuals and to identify the given parental responses to abuse, to increase awareness about the subject referring to the issues of its prevalence and prevention.
