İnhibisyona bağlı ölümler nadir görülen olgulardır. 6 yaşında bir erkek çocukta kronik adenoid tanısı ile yatırıldığı hastanede ameliyat sırasında adenoidlerin ilk küretajında ani bradikardi ve kardiak arrest gelişmiş, yapılan resüstasyona cevap vermemiştir. Otopside mukozanın birlikte kazındığı adenoidal bölgenin ekimozlu olması ve yapılan resüstasyon işlemine ait bulgular dışında makraskobik ve histopatolojik olarak nonspesifik bulgular saptanmıştır. Sistematik toksikolojik analizde toksik bir madde ve uyutucu-uyuşturucuya rastlanmamıştır. Sonuç olarak kişinin ölümünün adenoid kazınması sırasında gelişen inhibisyona bağlı ani kalp durması sonucu meydana gelmiş olduğu bildirilmiştir. Olgumuzun ve inhibisyona bağlı ölümlerin özellikleri tartışılmıştır.

Deaths due to inhibition are rarely seen. In this case, a 6-year-old boy was hospitalised with chronic adenoid for curetting operation. During the initial curetting of the adenoid, sudden bradycardia and cardiac arrest occurred and the patient did not reply to the resuscitation. At the autopsy, we found macroscopical and histopathological non-specific inventions. Echimosis on the adenoid region with the curetted mucosa as well as the inventions of the resuscitation were detected. Systematic toxicological investigations showed no intake of toxic, soporific or narcotic substances. In conclusion the cause of death was suggested to be a cardiac arrest due to inhibition that occurred at the time of curetting of the adenoid. The features of our case and deaths due to inhibition were discussed.
