The report of Yergalieva R.A. highlights fundamental components of the process of succession in modern Kazakh fine art with cultural heritage of the Great Steppe. Two determining factors have been outlined. First - transformation of the national cultural archetypes – plots and histories, mythology, folklore, as well as stylistic settings, traditional artistic principles. The second - existential component, interpretation of ethno-cultural images through the prism of universal human questions about the meaning and essence of being. These trends are identified as the mainstream of contemporary fine art.
