Currently Nogais compactly live in Astrakhan region, Republic of Dagestan, Karachay-Circassian Republic, Stavropol territory and Chechen Republic. The absence of their own autonomy and the fate of the divided people have a negative impact on the preservation of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Nogais. This situation is further exacerbated by the poor functioning of the Nogai language. In the article the author examines the functioning of Nogai language in the Republic of Dagestan.
